Autumn Officials Newsletter

Welcome to the Autumn edition of the Middlesex Officials Newsletter. This is a slightly delayed edition as there has been a problem with the MyAthletics portal for a few days.

In this edition you will find details about the Officials Reception, an early availability form for the 2025 Tri-Counties Indoor, some news of award winners from Middlesex and a reminder about the SEAOA conference coming up this month.

Officials Reception

The Officials reception will take place at The Freemasons Arms pub in Hampstead on Saturday October 26th at 7.30pm. All officials and a guest are invited.

Please complete the attached form to confirm your attendance.

We will also announce the Winner of the first Roy Stratton Award on the evening so please come along and enjoy an evening of celebration and thanks.

2025 Tri-Counties Indoor Championship

The 2025 edition of the Tri-Counties Indoor championship will take place at Lee Valley on March 15th and 16th 2025. For our newer officials, the Tri-Counties is the annual indoor championships of Kent, Middlesex and Herts and is an excellent opportunity to meet officials from across the region and learn about Indoor Competition.

Please complete this availability form.

SEAOA Conference

The annual SEAOA conference takes place at the Silesian School on Sunday October 20th. The conference is free to attend for all SEAOA members and any officials who highest level is Level 1.

You can find more details and a sign up form on the SEAOA website. Closing date for booking is October 4th so please book asap.

There are lots of interesting sessions at the conference and it is a great opportunity to meet officials from across the whole of the South of England.

Regional Volunteer Awards

The London section of England Athletics Volunteer Awards took place this week and three Middlesex officials were amongst the winners. Helena Stone (Photo Finish, London Heathside) won the Newcomer Award. Malcolm French (Track, Field, Start, Endurance, Serpentine Running Club) and I (Track, Start, Middlexsex CofSec, Ealing Eagles Running Club) were winners in the Inspiring Official section.

Congratulations to Helena and Malcolm from everyone in the Middlesex athletics community.

And with that, another Track and Field has ended and the Cross County season is upon us. Thank you all again for you time and devotion to officiating and I look forward to seeing you at the reception or a cross country race somewhere soon.
