Middlesex Virtual Club Races – October

Following the success of the September Junior Club Races another virtual competition was held with Athletes recording performances between 16th October and 1st November. In addition a 10km race was added for Seniors. A total of 222 performances were recorded, over 40 more than the September competition. Again a Club relay competition was calculated using the three best performances.

In the U11 Age Group ESM’s Jack Hayward improved his September time by 4s at 5:37 to again win the competition with London Heathside first in the team competition by the tightest of margins 18:12 to 18:13 with Harrow also very close behind on 18:17. In the Girls race Caitlin Roberts of London Heathside was first in a time of 6:08. London Heathside were also the first club with Harrow second and ESM third.

The U13’s saw Rory Johnson again in 1st place although not quite as fast as September with a time of 5:00. ESM were also easy winners of the club competition with a combined time of 15:40 with London Heathside 2nd and Hillingdon 3rd. In the girls race Annabelle Suffield of Harrow led her club to first place in the relay with London Heathside 2nd and ESM third.

The U15’s run a longer 3,000m with Freddie Bate of St Mary’s Richmond the fastest with 10:07, the team winner however was Harrow ahead of London Heathside. In the Girls Race Ruby Walls of London Heathside was first in a time of 11:23 while Thames Valley Harriers were first club in a time of 37:12 ahead of Harrow and ESM. In the U17 race Luca Stubbs of Shaftesbury produced the fastest time of 9:14 ahead of Seweryn Czapka of ESM 9:25. ESM were victorious in the team race ahead of Harrow and Trent Park. Ella Fryer was the first U17 woman with a time of 11:22. Trent Park with a time of 41:12 were the first club ahead of London Heathside. There were only a few U20 performances entered with Elias Ahmed (ESM) first with 9:20 ahead of Adam Ireland (Hillingdon) and in the U17 women’s event Evelyn Dumbleton (LH) first in 11:29 ahead of Katie Hay and Angel Grimes-McTavish.

The Senior race saw Tim Jenns record the fastest time of 34:56 ahead of Sonny Maud and Jim Lurkins all of The Stragglers Club. In the Ladies race Sophie Biggs (Stragglers) was first in a time of 39:50 ahead of Olivia Desborough and Julia Kelk of London Heathside. London Heathside with a combined time of 2:03 just beating the Stragglers by 44 s.
