Inter County Mountain race – 3 May
Inter County Mountain race – 3 May
Venue – Sedburgh in the Lake District
We had a good weekend in the hills and although windy, with some low cloud sweeping across the main peak, thankfully the forecast rain didn’t materialise, temperatures were good for running (low teens) and underfoot conditions like a dry cross country race.
Trent Park’s Kat Alpe led us home in 52nd (1:42.32) with Sabina Russell 69th (1:49.22), ahead of some local rivals from Herts and Essex. Scotland West’s Naomi Land was the winner in a tight battle with Derbyshire’s Elle Twentyman and Cumbria’s Scout Adkin, breaking away on the final descent. In the men’s race, Queens Park Harrier David Lawson was 46th, representing South Wales.
Thank you to Andrew Owen for the report
